Recap: EDUCRU Virtual Summit
We are thrilled to share with you the successful completion of the EDUCRU project's Virtual Summit, which took place on the 2nd and 3rd of February 2023. The EDUCRU project, supported by the Erasmus+ Small Scale Project for Education, brought together secondary-school students from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Poland to address the pressing issue of climate change.
The two-day event, held entirely online, provided a platform for nominated secondary schools from partner countries to connect, exchange ideas, and contribute to the project's goals of raising awareness and taking action against climate change.
On the first day, the International Project Day, the summit commenced with an attendance and warm welcome by the project partners. The participants then delved into the main focus of the day, the Climate Rules game. They actively engaged in Part 1 of the summit, where they tackled various climate-related challenges and worked together to find innovative solutions. After a well-deserved lunch break, Part 2 of the project day continued, allowing the students to further explore the Climate Rules game. The day concluded with concluding statements by the nominated schools from Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Slovakia, expressing their valuable insights and experiences. The event wrapped up with a final evaluation and heartfelt gratitude extended to all the participants for their active involvement.
The following day, the International Conference, welcomed all participants for a day of exploration and networking. The renowned professor Gregor Torkar from the University of Ljubljana delivered an inspiring keynote speech, setting the stage for the day's activities. The attendees had the opportunity to explore the virtual environment, interact with fellow students and facilitators from Central Europe, provide feedback on the project, participate in independent activities such as Networking Bingo!, and gain further knowledge about climate action in the Learning Lounge.
The summit was conducted on the Spatial platform, and participants accessed the event through the link shared on Discord. The virtual environment provided an immersive and interactive experience, fostering collaboration and meaningful exchanges between the students.
The EDUCRU project's Virtual Summit was a resounding success, thanks to the active participation and dedication of the teams. By joining forces, these young minds have taken significant steps toward addressing climate change and shaping a sustainable future.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the participants, project partners, and supporters who made the EDUCRU Virtual Summit a memorable and impactful event. Together, we can make a difference!
